Emotional Advertising

Nick Pisacane

After attending Hunter College, working as a bartender in Greenwich Village (where I
became a student of life and humanity) living
and traveling in Europe, and, upon my return to New York, attending The School of Visual Arts,
I began my advertising career at McCann Erickson, in 1972.

I’ve conceived and written many of the best-known campaigns of the last thirty years and have won over 20 Clio awards. In 1976, my campaign celebrating the bicentennial for
Exxon was considered the best campaign of
the year at both the One Show and Clios.

Some of the accounts I’ve worked on are listed on our web site, but it might be of interest to
know I helped launch Miller Lite and wrote
many of the initial commercials starring Dick Butkus, Rodney Dangerfield, Marv Throneberry and also launched the Sony Walkman in
this country.

In the last few years I have written some screenplays, a TV pilot, and am currently
working on a novel.

My proudest accomplishment is fathering a beautiful, kind and brilliant daughter who graduated from Harvard and Columbia Law School and is currently working at New York’s top-ranked law firm.

Alphonso Amato

I began my career after graduating from
Cooper Union Art School in 1960 as an assistant
art director at CBS Television, developing
advertising and promotional material for the
network. While there, in '61 and '62 two of my advertisements received Gold Medal Advertising
awards.

I served as Senior Vice President - Group Creative
Director at McCann Erickson Worldwide, and at
Wells Rich Greene, where I developed advertising
campaigns for the following companies:
Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Nabisco, Coca
Cola, Sony, Ford Corporate, A&P, Heublein,
Barclay Cigarettes, and Kentucky Fried Chicken.

In '83, I became a principal and Creative Director
at Fredericks Kullberg Amato Pisacane, where I
developed advertising campaigns for Mark Cross, Lebenthal, Ryland Homes, Phifer Johnson,
National Association of Nonprofit Hospitals.

In '90, I had an idea for a screenplay, and left
advertising to write it.

In '92, I began Creative Communications.
Some projects include: Maxwell House Coffee,
AT&T, Antinori Wine, Purina Cat Food,
and the National Guard.

Some personal interests of mine include painting, designing and creating things - to find elegant,
inexpensive solutions for specific needs. The best
example of this passion is my home. Twenty-two
years ago I designed it, oversaw its construction
and have been creating architectural items for it
ever since.
